Principal's Corner

December 4, 2017

Dear Aldene Families,

We continue to practice the character education trait of Helpfulness this month. Buddy classes worked together to create Helpful Hand Hearts which you will see hanging in the hallways. Thank you for assisting your child in completing their Helpfulness Heart at home. After they are returned, we will be counting the number of helpful acts our students have completed! Students whose art work has been chosen for the student-designed Aldene t-shirt will be announced this week. Soon you will receive details on how to purchase one of these fabulous t-shirts.
As the weather gets colder please remember to dress your child for the outdoors, as our goal is to have the students outside for recess as often as possible.  Physical activity is an important factor is keeping our bodies and brains healthy.

We are proud of our fifth grade students this month, as they will be hosting senior citizens from the Casano Center for a holiday luncheon. There will be games, a sing-a-long and the students will be interviewing their guests and following up with a written piece about them. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to hone their writing and speaking skills and practice being generous with their time.
