Principal's Corner

October 3, 2017

Dear Aldene Families,

I hope you are all enjoying this lovely fall weather. There are many exciting happenings at Aldene in October.  We kicked off the Week of Respect on October 2 with an activity each day to remind students about being respectful. These include Make a Friend Smile Monday, Silly Sock Day to celebrate diversity, Hat Day to remind students to put a lid on bullying, No Drama Pajama Day and Aldene Spirit Day on Friday. We will have an assembly highlighting what respect looks like and sounds like in school and students will be working with their buddy classes to design a t-shirt to showcase Aldene as ‘The School with Heart’.

An assembly geared toward teaching students how to be upstanding citizens will be presented by Chuckie Cheese on October 24 during school. That evening, all are invited to Chuckie Chees in Union where a percentage of their proceeds will be donated to the Aldene PTO!

Students who participated in the Summer Reading Program will receive certificates, coupons for ice cream and a new book of their choice on October 5. Thank you to all the families who supported our first annual Summer Reading Program.
