 ATTENTION PRE - K PARENTS/GUARDIANS :

As per N.J.A.C. 8:57-4.19, children six months through 59 months of age attending any licensed child care center, or preschool facility on or after September 1, 2008, shall annually receive at least one dose of influenza vaccine between September 1 and December 31 of each year.

Students entering school after December 31 up until March 31 must receive 1 dose since it is still flu season.

Medications

ANY student who must take medication in school/during school time needs to have the Roselle Park district form completed by the parent/guardian and physician. This form needs to be kept on file in the nurses office along with the medication you provide.

Tylenol, Motrin, cough syrup, cold medicine, or any over the counter medications need doctors orders and a district form.

You may obtain the form under the form section of my website. If your child needs to use an inhaler have the doctor complete the Asthma Action Form.

This is a health and safety issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Scoliosis Screening

All 4th grade boys and girls will be screened for scoliosis.

Scoliosis is a lateral (sideways) curving of the spine usually developing in pre-and early adolescence.

One in 10 persons will have scoliosis but only 2-3 will need active treatment.

Signs are a prominent shoulder blade, uneven hip and shoulder levels, unequal distance between arms and body, and clothes that do not "hang right."

Scoliosis tends to run in families and affects more girls than boys.

Causes of scoliosis may be genetic (run in the family), due to injury or illness or the cause may be unknown.

Scoliosis is not caused by anything a child or parent did or did not do.

Treatment may include a body brace, surgery or no treatment at all except for monitoring each year.
